Our first annual conference for 2020 took us to New Orleans to provide audio visual for the NBA Commercial Law Section at the Ritz Carlton, French Quarter. The theme for this years conference was "No Limit". The two day trip took us down 75 south through Bristol Virginia, Chattanooga Tennessee, and Birmingham Alabama before landing in New Orleans. We knew before arrival that load in was going to be a challenge due to not having access to the space until 9pm, the day before the start of the opening general session. Our call time the next morning was 6:30am. We worked with the local IATSE union for load in which was instrumental in cutting down on our set up time. The week of plenaries and breakouts was highlighted by the annual awards gala. The "No Limit" theme was carried into the gala with the use of musical selections from Master P played for award recipients as the entered and exited the stage to receive their awards. Decor was brought in from a local vendor to go along with the Led Video Wall that we installed for backstage graphics. Entertainment consistent of a live DJ, tarot card reader, living statue and of course, a second line band. The night was topped off with a dessert buffet that included fresh made beignets. At the conclusion of the conference, everything was loaded back on the truck by 5pm. This left a few hours to hit Bourbon St. before heading back in the morning.
