Back to Back at The Marriott Marquis Washington, DC

Updated: Apr 14, 2020

It’s rare, but there are times when we have clients back to back at the same hotel in the same ballroom. That’s what happened when we had a nonprofit fundraising Gala followed up the next day by a one day men’s conference at the Marriott Marquis. While this is certainly better than having to load out one event, move to another location, and load in another event, there are still certain challenges you face when providing audio visual for two large events back to back, regardless of whether or not they are at the same location. One of the ways that we are able to overcome some of those challenges is by getting both clients to agree on the use of certain types of audio visual equipment for production in exchange for discounts. By limiting the amount of equipment that has to be exchanged between events, we are able to cut down on labor and pass the savings on to our clients. In essence one client pays for set up while the other client pays for breakdown, saving each client thousands in production costs. Each client received the free upgrade of an LED video wall for backstage graphics. When all was said and done, the only changeover that needed to made was changing white pipe and drape to black pipe and drape.
